My name is Rebecca-Judyth Zurcher and I teach 6th and 7th grade ELA at Irving Middle School! This is my second year at Irving. Before moving to San Antonio, I live in Mürsbach, Germany, a small town in Northern Bavaria where my family and I were the only Americans. It was in Germany that I finished my teaching degree and did student teaching for the Department of Defense schools. I'm originally from Houston and am a 13th generation Texan.
In addition to being a teacher, I'm also a mom. I have four kids: three boys who are all grown up (mostly) and an 11-year-old daughter. I also love animals. I have 2 dogs, a black lab named Tallulah, who is 9-years-old, perfect, and wonderful; I also have a 4-year-old cocker spaniel named Aggie who is not perfect and wonderful, but she's mine. In addition to the dogs, I have a cat named Ellie, 3 rats (yes, rats) named Copper, Jinx Mabry, and Soren Lorenson. Whenever I get the chance, my daughter and I take horseback riding lessons. In my opinion, it is one of the few good reasons to get up early on a Saturday.
I have always loved reading and grammar. I really don't think that there is a better job for me than an English teacher!
Mi nombre es Rebecca-Judyth Zurcher y enseño 6º y 7º grado de ELA en la Irving Middle School! Este es mi segundo año en Irving. Antes de trasladarse a San Antonio, vivo en Mürsbach, Alemania, una pequeña ciudad en el norte de Baviera, donde mi familia y yo éramos los únicos americanos. Fue en Alemania, que terminé la carrera docente e hice enseñanza a los estudiantes de las escuelas del Departamento de Defensa. Soy originario de Houston y soy 13ra generación tejana.
Además de ser un maestro, también soy una mamá. Tengo cuatro hijos: tres niños que son adultos (en su mayoría) y una hija de 11 años de edad. También me gustan los animales. Tengo 2 perros, un labrador negro llamado Tallulah, que es de 9 años de edad, perfecta y maravillosa; También tengo un cocker spaniel de 4 años de edad, de nombre Aggie que no es perfecto y maravilloso, pero ella es mía. Además de los perros, tengo un gato llamado Ellie, 3 ratas (sí, ratas) llamado Copper, Jinx Mabry, y Soren Lorenson. Cada vez que tengo la oportunidad, mi hija y yo toman clases de equitación. En mi opinión, es una de las pocas buenas razones para levantarse temprano el sábado.
Siempre me ha gustado la lectura y la gramática. Realmente no creo que haya un mejor trabajo para mí que un profesora de Inglés!
